Explore
Explore a 50-by-70-meter limestone crater filled with turquoise water. Hawiyat Najm Park offers an easy stop along the Route 17 coastal highway.
Bimmah Sinkhole is located about 30 to 40 kilometers north of Wadi Shab. Most visitors combine both sites into one day trip from Muscat, driving about 1.5 hours to reach the park.
Entry to the park is free. An underground tunnel connects the sinkhole to the sea, mixing fresh and salt water inside the 20-meter deep crater.

5 minutesSlippery stairs
A long set of steep stairs connects the rim directly to the water's edge. Hold the handrails as you descend. The concrete gets very slippery from wet swimmers climbing back up.

30-45 minutesWater access
Swim in the 20-meter deep crater pool. The water is a refreshing mix of salt and fresh water. Small fish live in the pool and might gently nibble at your toes.
